The government has recently launched a consultation on the implementation of gender pay gap reporting for large private and third sector employers.
While draft regulations have not yet been produced, it is anticipated that employers with more than 250 employees will be subject to some form of mandatory reporting. The consultation period ends on 6 September 2015.
In the meantime, government guidance on the ‘Think, Act, Report’ framework has been re-published (https://www.gov.uk/think-act-report). This guidance was aimed at encouraging voluntary action by employers to identify, and act transparently to address, gender pay gap issues.
