National Minimum Wage to Increase

The Government has announced that the National Minimum Wage is to increase from 1 April 2026. The National Minimum Wage goes up every April, but the new rates are announced in advance to allow employers to prepare.

The increases, effective from 1 April 2026, are set out below:

  • For those aged 21 and over – from £12.21 to £12.71 per hour.
  • For those aged 18 to 20 – from £10.00 to £10.85 per hour.
  • For apprentices and those aged 16 to 17 – from £7.55 to £8.00 per hour.
