As you may have seen in the news this week, the Government has announced that it is postponing the reforms to the off-payroll working rules IR35 from April 2020 to 6 April 2021.

It was explained that this was a deferral of the changes in response to the ongoing spread of covid-19 to help businesses and individuals, and that the Government remains committed to reintroducing this policy to ensure that people who are working like employees, but through their own limited company, pay broadly the same tax as those employed directly.

We will provide any updates in advance of April 2021, but if you wish to discuss the Government’s announcement, or you need support on any other employment law matters, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team on 0141 331 5150.
