Scottish unemployment down; UK unemployment up

According to the latest figures, the unemployment rate in Scotland has fallen below 200,000 for the first time in more than three years.

General employment law changes


Office for National Statistics (ONS) data showed the number of jobless individuals had fallen by 11,000 between December and February. It now stands at 197,000.


However, the ONS data also shows that UK-wide unemployment rose by 70,000 to 2.56 million between December and February.
