This week, the Government announced the increased National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage rates which will come into force from April 2022.
Of particular note is that the National Living Wage will increase by 6.6% from £8.91 to £9.50 per hour. In addition, the apprentice rate shall increase by 51 pence per hour, aligning it with the rate for those aged 16 or 17.
The National Minimum Wage bandings have been amended as follows:
*Apprentices are entitled to receive the apprentice rate if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.
